Developmental Work

I have done some sketches to help me decide what kind of method to show my rights of passage. I have came up with the idea of using the same style as TokiDoki, a quite well known designs which are found on clothing and other merchandise. I was in my room when i was looking through my clothes and i found my hoodie with the TokiDoki design on and as i looked at it, it was like telling a story and because i want a childish feel to my work i thought this would be the best way of working.

I'm also looking at more into my friends who i value so much and because they are bright and childish themselves and they have their own way of recognising them e.g. Naomi wears a Pikachu hoodie. tokidoki ("sometimes" in Japanese) is the Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand created in 2005 by Italian artist Simone Legno and his business partners Pooneh Mohajer and Ivan Arnold.

Tokidoki produces apparel, footwear, accessories and other products using art, iconic characters and the tokidoki logo designed by Simone Legno, including purses, t-shirts, vinyl figures, jewelry, and small toys.
Simone describes how he feels that his work is childish and mature which is exactly how I see my own work and is the way i want to carry on working in.
