This is a link to my website which contains my final video under textiles.
My final video is me wearing loads of hoodies and in stop motion taking each one off which symbolises me shedding my life experiences to get to the dinosaur within. No matter how many layers I will always be my true self underneath and I wanted to show that by being the dinosaur under the layers. Then after I've taken the layers off I spin which is me going to another place which in this case is the park i go with my friends every Sunday. Then i wanted to embrace the dinosaur making sure everyone knows that who I am so I chase Sam and eventually catch him and om nom nom him.

How To Make A Dinosaur Hoodie

This is a video I found on Youtube on how to make a hoodie.

I took inspiration from this video on how to make my hoodie.
I cut out squares out of the red felt and fold them to make a triangles, then cut down the middle and sew the 2 even sides then fold inside out and stuff it with wool. After making loads in different sizes, i sewed them onto the back on the hoodie measuring 2/3cm from each one. I then bought another hoodie to make the tail. I cut out a rectangle then sewed it into a cyclinder and then sewed at the top to give it a point then folded into inside out and stuffed with wool. I also made claws which were made in the same way as the spikes.

I have made another part of my video, i have changed my idea to having lots of short videos in different locations and putting them together. This was because I failed to make my idea for the performance due to restriction in Fareham precinct wouldn't allow me to take pictures and also guards near the park outside of the precinct wouldn't allow us in there because of other teenagers harrassing kids in the park.

The New Performance

After panicking about what to do in my performance i woke up in the middle of the night with my latest idea for my performance. The new performance will start in Bath Lane Park in Fareham near the greenery to make the scene of the dinosaur. I will start by putting on the dinosaur hoodie to become Lacy-Rawr-A-Saur, then Karina (best friend) will walk past me and I'll look at her as if she is my prey and creep up from behind her, then tap on her shoulder and she will pull a scared face and i will chase her around in quite a comical way til i finally catch her and eat her on the floor. Then i will rise up and Sam (mate that is taking the pictures) will stop shooting and will go to Fareham Precinct just out where there is a little park and I'm going to look confused because i was taken from the typical dinosaur location into the town. I will go into the little park a typical place where i hang with my friends and climb to the highest part to reclaim the dinosaurs pride, the dinosaur feels scared by this unusual surroundings so I will make everyone see that I'm still top predator but then I'm going to ask a stranger near the location to be apart of it by telling me off/looking disgusted and it will make me sad and stumble away, make me feel that i don't belong. So then i'll, going to go into New Look another place I tend to hang, then look at a 'Maneater' T-shirt and then ask one of the employees of the shop to look the same as the other person that told me off, making me feel even more confused on where i belong. I then walk towards Macdonalds and go upstairs to find my group, then we have a group picture to show i've finally found my place in life, somewhere i can feel safe and belong, and this is why at this point i will take my hoodie off because my friends already see the dinosaur within me so I don't need the hoodie.

Test Run

I have made a quick video of the style I want my final video to be in, this has some of the aspects i'm having in my final but the performance will be of better quality.

The Performance

I have booked a date to film my performance on the 8th of March.
The peformance with consist of me emerging from the dinosaur suit to become the boring Lacy. The dinosaur shows the child within that is shown as a hoodie on the outside and the shell, the skin that everyone is use to seeing is in the inside.
After thinking ways of filming i have really have my heart set on snap shots, a series of pictures made into a film and it's sped up to make it look like it's moving. I had a test run of this method to see if it would work but i liked the results this method gave and will carry on with this way of working.

New Idea

After having a review crit with my class and looking through my sketchbook, I have decided to make a Dinosaur hoodie and do a performance. The idea is to show my inner child on the outside and the way i look is on the inside and through the performance i will emerge from the dinosaur disguise and become me again. I got this idea from my friend Naomi who has a Pikachu hoodie which she is well known for so because i'm known as Lacy-Rawr-A-Saur so i wanted to embrace that and make a dinosaur hoodie.
